Colorado 811 does not provide locate services. Locate services are provided by the Underground Facility Owner or its agents who are independent of Colorado 811. Colorado 811 only provides notice of intended excavations to the Underground Facility Owners. The Underground Facility Owners will only locate the utilities they own and maintain to the meter or demarcation point. Everything on the backside of the meter or demarcation point is privately owned by the property owner.
***Please Note*** There may be private utilities within your dig area. Private utilities are owned and maintained by the property owner and will not be located when you contact 811. It is the property owner or excavator’s responsibility to have private utilities located at their expense.
