Colorado 811 hit a historical milestone on December 16, 2020, when they processed over a million tickets in a year. 2020 has been a year of many lows, but this significant accomplishment marks the culmination of excavators doing the right thing and contacting 811 before digging.
All CO811 employees were sent home to work remotely in March. This transition did not impact operations, it demonstrated just how dedicated the staff is. In June, the most calls were answered – just over 30,000 – along with agents processing over 100,000 tickets in a month.
“This monumental achievement could not have been done without the dedication of every single Colorado 811 employee,” said J.D. Maniscalco, Chief Executive Officer at Colorado 811. “We would also like to thank the excavating community for making safety a top priority; we could not have done this without the support of Colorado excavators.”
By contacting 811 before digging, excavators and homeowners are taking the necessary steps to protect themselves and their communities. Colorado 811 is the communication link between anyone planning on digging and the utility companies throughout Colorado. Learn about Colorado 811 by visiting www.co811.org.
