David Waller brings 30 years of business experience in southwest Colorado. This includes ten years as a marketing/communications director in the electric utility industry and seven years of business development in the pipeline industry. During this time, David promoted the 811 system. He also indirectly witnessed a traumatic event when the system was improperly utilized.

As a Damage Prevention Liaison, David will work to ensure that homeowners and professional excavators utilize 811 before digging. He will provide local support and education in his territory with the goal of protecting the community and underground infrastructure.

Liaisons provide community support to Colorado 811 damage prevention stakeholders. They give safety presentations (Safe Digging Practices, Understanding the Law, Best Practices and more), Web Ticket Entry classes, speak at Toolbox Talks, and they attend community events to raise awareness of 811 and safe digging.
