Colorado Springs New City Ordinance Virtual Meetings

The City of Colorado Springs has passed a new Ordinance.  The Underground Damage Prevention Safety Program goes into effect January 1, 2021.

Although similar to the current state One Call Law, the Colorado Springs Ordinance includes some additional requirements for excavators and utility owners, in addition to enacting a local enforcement process for violations. Changes include:

  • Mandatory premarks
  • Trip fees
  • Fines for violations

The El Paso County Damage Prevention Council (EPCDPC) is holding a series of virtual informational sessions to assist excavators and utility owners in understanding the new requirements and local enforcement process. Sessions are scheduled for:

  • January 13: 7:00am-8:30am or 12:00pm-1:30pm
  • January 27: 7:00am-8:30am or 12:00pm-1:30pm
  • February 3: 7:00am-8:30am
  • February 5: 7:00am-8:30am
  • February 17: 7:00am-8:30am

Please register for one of the offered virtual sessions below. Meeting invitations will be sent out 48 hours prior to the scheduled meeting date.
